Recombinant Human Angiogenin Gln25-Pro147

Synonimy: Ribonuclease 5 (RNase 5)

Angiogenin is a secreted ribonuclease involved in multiple cellular processes, including the regulation of cell proliferation based on environmental context. As a member of the ribonuclease family, it plays a crucial role in stress response by promoting the formation of stress granules through the cleavage of specific tRNAs, such as tRNA(Ala) and others. This activity results in translation repression, apoptosis inhibition, and ultimately, enhanced cell survival. Under favorable conditions, Angiogenin translocates to the nucleus, stimulating ribosomal RNA (rRNA) transcription, thereby promoting cell growth and sustaining hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPCs). Additionally, it mediates vital interactions between myeloid and intestinal epithelial cells and contributes to bone health by protecting vascular cells against senescence.
