Recombinant Human Activin A Gly311-Ser426
Synonimy: Inhibin beta A chain, Erythroid differentiation protein, EDF
Activin A is a member of the TGF-beta superfamily of cytokines involved in diverse biological processes including tissue morphogenesis, fibrosis, inflammation, neural development, hematopoiesis, and reproductive function. It is a disulfide-linked homodimer of two beta A chains that signals through type I and II serine/threonine kinase receptors, leading to Smad activation. Activin A plays important roles in stem cell differentiation, particularly in inducing definitive endoderm formation from pluripotent stem cells. It also promotes tumor progression and immune evasion in cancer, making it a potential therapeutic target. This recombinant protein can be used to study Activin A signaling and functions in vitro.
