Anti-Bcl-xL Antibody

This antibody targets B-cell lymphoma-extra large (Bcl-xL), a prominent anti-apoptotic protein belonging to the Bcl-2 family. Localized primarily to the outer mitochondrial membrane, Bcl-xL promotes cell survival by binding to and sequestering pro-apoptotic proteins like BAX and BAK, thereby preventing mitochondrial outer membrane permeabilization and the release of cytochrome c. Overexpression of Bcl-xL is a common mechanism of cancer cell survival and chemoresistance.

Demonstrated performance in immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, and flow cytometry allows this antibody to facilitate the study of intrinsic apoptosis pathways, mitochondrial regulation of cell death, and mechanisms of drug resistance in cancer, making it a valuable reagent in oncology research.
