Recombinant Human BMP-2 F6 Ala284-Arg396
Synonyms: BMP-2A, BDA2
Bone morphogenetic protein 2 (BMP-2) is a member of the BMP subgroup of the TGF-beta superfamily. It plays a crucial role in embryonic dorsal-ventral patterning, organogenesis, limb bud formation, and bone formation and regeneration. BMP-2 induces chondrocyte proliferation, endochondral bone formation, and bone/cartilage repair. It promotes osteogenic and chondrogenic differentiation in various cell types, including mesenchymal cells and stem cells. BMP-2 signals through heterodimeric receptor complexes and activates SMAD and MAPK pathways. It is particularly abundant in lung, spleen and colon, with significant expression in other tissues.
