Recombinant Human Aminoacyl tRNA synthase complex-interacting multifunctional protein 1 Ala2-Lys312
Synonyms: Multisynthase complex auxiliary component p43, Endothelial monocyte-activating polypeptide 2 (EMAP-2), Endothelial monocyte-activating polypeptide II (EMAP-II), Small inducible cytokine subfamily E m…
Recombinant Human Aminoacyl tRNA synthase complex-interacting multifunctional protein 1 (AIMP1) is a non-catalytic component of the multisynthase complex that stimulates the catalytic activity of cytoplasmic arginyl-tRNA synthase. This multifunctional protein binds tRNA and possesses inflammatory cytokine activity. AIMP1 plays crucial roles in angiogenesis, glucose homeostasis, and wound repair by promoting dermal fibroblast proliferation. It also regulates TGF-beta signaling through stabilization of SMURF2 and modulates endothelial cell responses by degrading HIF-1A. The protein is involved in monocyte cell adhesion and dendritic cell maturation. Mutations in AIMP1 are associated with Leukodystrophy, hypomyelinating, 3 (HLD3), a severe autosomal recessive disorder characterized by early infantile developmental delay and decreased myelination in the central nervous system.
