Recombinant Human IL-37 Glu27-Lys192

Synonyms: "FIL1 zeta, IL-1X, Interleukin-1 family member 7 (IL-1F7), Interleukin-1 homolog 4 (IL-1H; IL-1H4), Interleukin-1 zeta (IL-1 zeta), Interleukin-1-related protein (IL-1RP1) "

IL-37 is a potent immune regulatory cytokine, part of the interleukin 1 family, and is primarily located intracellularly. It plays a critical role in suppressing innate inflammatory and immune responses, helping to fend off excessive inflammation. IL-37 operates through two mechanisms: promoting nuclear translocation with SMAD3 and binding to its receptor complex of IL18R1 and IL18RAP. This reduction of pro-inflammatory cytokines, such as IL1A and IL6, while sparing anti-inflammatory cytokines, makes IL-37 invaluable in controlling inflammation. Its expression has been observed in human lung, testis, and colon tissues, providing insights into its potential implications in various diseases including cancer. Given its significant function in modulating immune response, IL-37 is essential for laboratory research targeting inflammatory disorders.
