LDH Activity Assay Kit employs a colorimetric or spectrophotometric method, detecting the formation of NADH as a result of LDH-mediated lactate oxidation. The increase in absorbance at 340 nm is directly proportional to LDH activity in the sample. One unit of lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) activity is defined as the amount of enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of lactate into pyruvate to generate 1.0 μmole of NADH per minute at 37 °C.
