Anti-Proteinase K Antibody
Synonyms: Proteinase K, EC 3.4.21.64
This antibody specifically targets Proteinase K (EC 3.4.21.64), a serine endopeptidase naturally produced by Parengyodontium album (formerly Tritirachium album). Proteinase K functions by hydrolyzing keratin and other proteins with subtilisin-like specificity, preferentially cleaving at aromatic and hydrophobic residues. The enzyme requires calcium binding for structural stability, with two calcium ions bound per subunit.
This antibody has been validated for immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, and flow cytometry applications. The polyclonal format offers robust detection capabilities for research involving proteolytic enzymes.
