Anti-PCNA Antibody

This monoclonal antibody specifically targets Proliferating Cell Nuclear Antigen (PCNA), a critical 36 kDa protein involved in DNA replication and repair. PCNA acts as a processivity factor for DNA polymerase delta and epsilon, tethering polymerases to DNA for efficient synthesis. It forms a toroidal trimer during S phase, enabling loading of DNA polymerases onto the replication complex, and participates in DNA damage response pathways by coordinating DNA replication with repair mechanisms.

Validated for immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, and flow cytometry applications, this antibody effectively detects PCNA in proliferating cells, making it a valuable tool for cell cycle studies and proliferation analysis. PCNA expression begins to accumulate during G1 phase, peaks during S phase, and declines during G2/M phase, allowing precise tracking of cell cycle progression.
