Anti-Argonaute 2 Antibody
Synonyms: Argonaute RISC catalytic component 2, Eukaryotic translation initiation factor 2C 2, PAZ Piwi domain protein (PPD), Protein slicer
This antibody specifically targets Protein Argonaute-2 (AGO2), a key component of the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC) essential for RNA-mediated gene silencing. AGO2 binds to microRNAs (miRNAs) or short interfering RNAs (siRNAs) and mediates gene silencing through two mechanisms: endonucleolytic cleavage of perfectly complementary target mRNAs or translational repression of partially complementary targets. The protein contains PAZ and Piwi domains and plays critical roles in post-transcriptional gene regulation.
This antibody has been validated for immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, and flow cytometry applications. It enables reliable detection of AGO2 in experimental settings investigating RNA interference pathways, miRNA function, and gene expression regulation.
